Many of the medical conditions listed below
have a link to Wikipedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Categorical_index
Wikipedia is not a medical site but an Internet encyclopedia
covering an unimaginable range of topics, including most medical
conditions.
I use it because it’s a “find out all about it” site, not one that
is out to sell you something.
Interestingly, it allows visitors to edit or add information to its
content.
Wikipedia provides information on medical conditions and
importantly, on related issues.
Wikipedia is just a start.
Accommodation
These accommodation sites are not necessarily applicable to the
Federal government, but they will give you an idea of the range of
possible accommodations. They are particularly useful for employees
who do not want disability retirement, but who could remain employed
if they were accommodated.

Viktor Frankl’s “Logotherapy”
http://www.mentalhealth.com/mag1/wolfgang_hp.html
This link won’t be of any help to someone seeking disability
retirement, but it stirred a fond memory. In 1962, trying to decide
whether I should really take the plunge and go to law school, I took
a course at Harvard taught by Professor Viktor Frankl. I never
understood what the course was all about, but I was fascinated by
the way it was taught.
Since Professor Frankl was unable to adequately lecture in English,
a translator stood by his side during each class and gave a running
translation from German to English.
Every once in a while, Professor Frankl would hold up his hand, stop
the translator and blurt out a few English phrases. They usually
concerned Sigmund Freud, as in, “I told Freud not to say that,” or
“Freud, just couldn’t understand what I was getting at, or “liebet Gott, those cigars.”
I could never figure out whether he was kidding, but to this 22
year-old, a professor with his own translator, who had remonstrated
Freud, was, in today’s language, “awesome.”
